Owasso High School has purchased four GradeMaster 600s and the GradeMaster scanning forms. Our staff of 80 has continued to use Apperson's products and services because their price is one of the lowest we can find. For several years we ordered scanning forms from another company and used their machine. The machine was noisy, big and bulky. GradeMaster is very quiet. The staff likes the large variety of scanning forms that are offered. Scanning forms can be ordered from the GradeMaster web site. GradeMaster scanning forms are good for students as it standardizes them for ACT or SAT test. The GradeMaster saves so much time for the teachers and is very accurate in their grading methods.

In 2007, my husband surprised me with the best birthday gift ever - the Apperson GradeMaster 600! For years he has seen me spend endless hours grading objective questions, often at the expense of family time or sleep. While I hesitated to purchase a GradeMaster for my own use, I am convinced that having one has made me a better teacher. The GradeMaster does not limit my assessment; it enhances the assessments I design. By freeing up so much time previously devoted to grading objective questions I now have time available to include a wider variety of question types, including more open response items. Using the Item Analysis feature to obtain detailed reports of the test lets me tailor further instruction to clear up student misconceptions. A nice side bonus of converting to the GradeMaster is that it makes copying another student's answers almost impossible - now I know every student's work is their own. Better test design, decreased copying, more family time, and more sleep - what's not to love?

Using the GradeMaster 600 test scanner allows me to give my students immediate feedback on their formative and summative assessments. It also allows me to quickly identify students that are struggling and help provide appropriate interventions individually and in small groups. Perhaps even more importantly, it helps me to keep my testing program fair and equitable. I am able to track individual question responses to see how well my lesson planning and instructions are matching with the students responses. I am also able to more easily identify possible biased or simply bad test items through the item analysis reports. Without the GradeMaster 600 test scanner some of this data analysis is improbable and almost impossible. There simply isn't enough of my time to do what this machine can do in seconds. Using this system helps me to be a better teacher. I spend more time working directly with my students instead of crunching numbers, calculating scores, checking off answer choices, and critiquing responses.

At the middle school where I teach, we are departmentalized. This means some of us see as many as one hundred and fifty students each day. That can turn in to some real late night grading! Fortunately, a few years ago several of us joined together to purchase a GradeMaster 600 from Apperson. We felt this would help ease some of the grading problems we faced. What a wonderful decision we made! Now we can run those 150 papers through our GradeMaster 600 in a matter of minutes. It not only scores it for us, but it figures the percentage and shows the correct answer if you choose that option. Now when our teachers go home at night, they don't have to carry mounds of paper, and they are able to have valuable family time. I am thrilled with our GradeMaster 600! It was definitely money well spent!

I purchased my Apperson GradeMaster 600 two years ago and it has revolutionized assessment in my classroom! I score all my tests and quizzes with my Apperson and am able to give my students quick, accurate and discreet feedback on their performance. They can immediately see how they scored and where they have misunderstandings and correct them. Test scores are relevant again with my Apperson - instead of waiting until the next class period to get feedback, students get it right away! The teachers are so excited about the item analysis sheets that they will be able to print. One teacher is already accessing it from the screen of the machine today and then writing it down for her reports. I've known that person for 8 years and I've never seen her so happy. Ever since I bought the Grademaster 600 for our school I've been trying to get all the teachers to come see it and use it. Once they do, they are hooked. Word is out and it has put some smiles on their faces. This is one of the best things I've ever done for our school.
